Q: How are GCSP winners notified?

A: Our scholarship winners are notified via email no later than 30 April each year; we follow-up via snail mail.

Q: Does GCSP classify Nursing Degrees/Programs as STEM?

A: Yes

Q: Do transcripts need to be official?

A: No. We actually prefer unofficial transcripts; we verify the information on the transcripts of our finalists.

Q: Should I submit letters of recommendation with my application package?

A: No. Letters of recommendation carry no weight in our selection process.

Q: What should I do if the application deadline approaches, but I have not heard back from all the institutions I have applied to?

A: You may submit an acceptance letter from any institution that meets our criteria. It is ok if you later choose to attend a different institution, as long as our prerequisites are still met.

Q: What happens if I am awarded a GCSP scholarship, but want to change majors?

A: The GCSP will honor the award as long as your new major is a STEM discipline.

Q: What happens if I am awarded a GCSP scholarship, but want to change institutions?

A: The GCSP will honor the award as long as our original prerequisites are still met at your new institution.

Q: What if I am a non-traditional student returning to college for an undergrad degree, and have no SAT or ACT score?

A: The GCSP will consider non-traditional student's applications without an SAT or ACT score.

Q: Why do you require SAT or ACT scores for current Undergrad applicants?

A:  We are a small organization that grew quickly, and we were inundated with the number of applications we were receiving each year.  Yes, we use these test scores to help weed out applications, but high SAT/ACT scores can also make up for any number of things on an otherwise weaker application.
